I’m often asked, "what does it take to lose the weight and keep it off?’
My answer is always the same: “whatever you do to lose the weight, you have to do to maintain it.”
Most of the time I get a sad, dejected look because deep down the person that asked knows…
They can’t keep it up.
They have the desire.
They have the determination.
They’re even a little bit desperate (which is a good thing if you ask me; desperation is the mother of invention).
Here’s the thing: they know deep down their plan is not sustainable.
Many people know WHAT to do – eat right and exercise – but the piece that they are missing is the HOW.
“Coach Tam, I can do it for a few weeks or months, no problem. But for life? How do I do that???”
Trust me, I get it. No really, I get it. It wasn’t that long ago that I was where you are.
But then one day, everything changed.
I lost 70 pounds in 10 months AND I kept it off.
There are 3 reasons this happened...
First, I stopped allowing my excuses to excuse me from the responsibility of changing my life (read that again and let it sink in)...
Second, I invested in the tools and resources I needed to be successful long term...
Third, I surrounded myself with people that believed in me and cheered me on until I could believe in myself.
The first thing anyone can do…
The 2nd and 3rd only happen after you decide to invest in yourself.
Isn't it about time you invest in you?
