A few weeks ago I was at a health fair talking about 265 Point and was asked which "plan" I followed to lose the weight. He started naming off various diets and even threw out vegetarianism and veganism. When I told him it was none of those things he was intrigued. I told him that permanent weight loss isn't about a magical eating plan or exercise routine. No, it's a heart thing. Let me explain.
When we are finally sick and tired of carrying the extra weight, the first thing we do is decide to change our eating habits, adopt an exercise routine or a combo of both. While taking these steps is crucial to lose weight and keep it off, it takes more than that. Real lasting success comes when you have a meeting with yourself and get to the heart of the matter. Until you do, you can expect to go around the same mountain again and again. Ask me how I know!
The truth that we don't want to hear is that it's about HEART. You have to get to the heart of why you eat your troubles away rather than confront the real issue. You have to figure out why you make everything but exercise a priority. You have to be honest about why you put everyone else's needs first and yours go unmet. Hear this: If you don't address the mind and soul, any success you experience physically will be temporary.
